What began as a straight forward solution has since evolved into a globally adopted system, now serving as a central resource for all brands within the group.

What started as a B2C design system quickly grew to accommodate B2B needs, evolving into a key asset for the entire group. Working closely with a dedicated design studio in Leroy Merlin's feature teams, we shaped the system through daily collaboration—crafting components, refining documentation, and ensuring consistency in design reviews. Beyond maintaining the system, our role was also to align the diverse needs of design teams, making sure every contribution fit within a coherent product. This daily balance of iteration, guidance, and design workshops helped establish a system that remains a solid foundation for all teams.
This project was a true collaboration between design and development, working closely in a pluridisciplanary team with our dedicated developers to ensure seamless integration. What started in Sketch evolved into a more advanced and flexible system in Figma, while the front-end foundations grew from plain HTML and CSS to supporting a range of modern technologies like Vue and React. This continuous evolution allowed the design system to remain adaptable, empowering teams across the group to build consistent and high-quality experiences.
